Kitron is currently looking for a Mechanical Assembly and Store Engineer based in Chennai, India, who will play a key role in ensuring the smooth execution of our programs and an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience in the field of Automation.
Job Description:
Mechanical Assembly:
- Assemble mechanical systems including SPMs, jigs, fixtures, and test rigs as per engineering drawings and instructions.
- Work with standard mechanical components like actuators, pneumatic systems, LM guides, bearings, fasteners, etc.
- Conduct initial functional tests and assist in machine trials and debugging.
- Interpret technical drawings, understand GD&T, and apply mechanical engineering fundamentals.
- Collaborate with design, electrical, and programming teams for integration and troubleshooting.
- Provide feedback for design improvements based on on-ground challenges during assembly.
- Follow DFM/DFA principles and ergonomic practices during builds.
Store Management:
- Handle inward and outward movement of materials and parts efficiently and accurately.
- Maintain proper records of inventory, component issue/return, and material tracking.
- Coordinate with vendors and the procurement team for material receipts and delivery status.
- Ensure proper storage, tagging, and stock verification of mechanical components, tools, and consumables.
- Assist in maintaining a clean, organized, and safe workspace, including the store area.
Requirements:
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- 2 to 4 years of hands-on experience in mechanical assembly, preferably in SPM (Special Purpose Machines) or automation equipment.
- Strong mechanical knowledge and hands-on assembly ability.
- Good understanding of mechanical components and drawings.
- Basic inventory management and material handling skills.
- Familiarity with stock registers, inward/outward logs.
- Excellent attention to detail and responsibility in managing parts and tools.
- Good communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced, small-team environment.
